But seriously, as he said. Try the "Packhunter" That one I have actually tried some time ago... And I really liked it I recommend the "packhunter".

lol I hope that helps...
Theres a very overpowered Scthe build which is used in PvP atm, and I think it works for PvE. It involves using a scythe and [[Escape]. Give it a whirl, should be able to find it in wiki, the pvp build is called "Sway".

Broad Head Arrow/Splinter Barrage> PvE
And if you insist on using a melee weapon on a PvE ranger then go with the spear some degen>bunny thumping against lvl 26 monsters.

Ok, thanks for all that. I understand no melee ranger in PvE, lol - I just enjoyed using Great Dwarf Weapon on my pet.

Anyways. my last question, is it easy to get one of these "Packhunter" teams together, or "Sway" teams together?

Bunny Thumper build relies alot on knocking down your opponents, which is best done with a hammer. No melee for rangers if you're going for survivor title.

Just lost my 930k ranger to some retarded Ruby Djinn Boss. Just buff up your health to the max and interrupt/spike/condition spam/splinter barrage or something. No melee...

Because of expertise, which gives access to spamming energy based attacks such as irresistible blow and crushing blow. Ho and because you only use adrenaline to power hammer bash, making it have no drawback.

And to KoleAurow:
try using that little hint I showed you in my last post and update your OP to include your rephrased question.

Just stay away from Swords, Axes and Daggers. Only Spears, Scythes and Hammers have all found their way into Ranger bars with any degree of success.

Yeah but Murmel, it isn't a good build. It's just doing something a Warrior can do better.

I've tried it in PvE. It's still bad.

Earth Shaker Ranger is good for taking the place of an ES Warrior, but it's still sub-par compared. Can knock-lock, but is sub-par...

Why? Because many skills in the BM line synergize well with the KD condition. Unfortunately you can't KD with a bow. However, hammers offer reliable KDs.

Consider the following sequence: [hammer bash][crushing blow][bestial mauling]. A KD'd opponent cannot cast spells to protect themselves. On top of that you're inflicting a DW while your pet simultaneously inflicts the Dazed condition, which can be devastating for any caster.

However, Rangers are still at their best with Bows.

this thread is a mess. Shru has pretty much fully explained the exact formalities of secondary weapon mastery and pet usage for both pve and pvp. just read his post, and this thread is finished.

thanks shru, you have more patients than i lol..

i noticed in the pvxwiki build, there is no troll or healing whatsoever. does this build rely on an allied monk to stay alive?
